Jon's Birthday

So since I was bummed that I wasn't able to spend Jon's actual birthday with him... again, I decided to do something special for him. I put together a small surprise birthday party for him on Friday night after the boys' practice. I even got two of our best friends that are graduated and live in Portland to come down and surprise him. I took Jon to dinner after their practice so everyone could come over to our house while we were gone. He was so surprised he had no idea that I had planned it! It was pretty cool. Anyways here's some pictures... and some of my friends that I'm sure you haven't seen before.

It's been a month?

Alright I haven't posted for a while now because I have been super busy. I can't believe it's almost been a month now and a lot has happened. I leave in less than two months for Italy, which seems unreal. Jon gets to take off his sling on Friday and let me tell you I think that I'm happier than he is. I mean image how hard it would be to live with one arm! I've had to cook, clean, and tie shoes for a month now and it's been exhausting. I'm glad that I've been here to help him but I'll be glad when he can tie his own shoes! lol. Anyway, Jon also turned 21 in New York City over the past month. He got to go to Times Square, Central Park and a Mets game on his actual birthday... I was so jealous.

Urban Dare

So Stacy and I did a race in Scottsdale on Saturday called the Urban Dare. It's basically a scavenger hunt around the downtown Scottsdale area. So we got clues and then had to go take a picture with something. We also had some dares too like eating gelato or doing a wheel barrel race in the dead and dry Arizona weeds. I think that we had to have walked/ran about 5 miles . It was exhausting. Before the race

Crazy hair! It was hot... this is when we started getting hot and sweaty lol.
Yet another horse.
Little horsie!
Last clue!
All done getting food!

A day with the Vanvalkenburg's

On Monday I got the privilege of watching my beautiful niece Megan and we had all sorts of fun. She has grown and learned so much since the last time I saw her. She now blows kisses and even embellishes it with a "muah". She has all of her sign language down so she can tell you exactly what she needs or wants. While we were having a snack of applesauce and goldfish, she would kiss each goldfish, wave bye-bye to it and then eat it. It was the cutest and most hilarious thing.

Me and the baby.Aunt Tami came to visit too.

Somebody found my tip money in my purse and found it really fun to play with!
Counting the money!

Megan loves to help clean up. I had taken my shoes off by the couch and she picked them up and put them with the rest of the shoes...so cute! So I got the idea to put her into my shoes. They almost went up her whole legs. She thought it was so funny. She held my hand and tried walking in them and she actually got pretty good at it. She must have had fun because she kept going back to my shoes and giving me her "more" sign. So I would put the shoes back on her and we'd walk around for a while.

That night I also got to hang out with Kristie and Josh which was a lot of fun because I don't get to see them often. We had dinner and a few hours of playing wii. It was fun and my arm was definitely sore the next day from bowling and tennis! All and all it was a good day.

Surgery

So I haven't been able to get on the internet since I've been in Arizona so I haven't been able to update. Jon went to see a specialist in Seattle on Wednesday and the break was worse than thought. So he was scheduled for surgery today at 5pm. He actually just got out of surgery and everything went great. He now has a metal plate in his right collar bone to stabilize it and help it heal correctly. He will have to spend the night in the hospital but I believe that his mom is going to stay with him. They think he'll have a one to two inch scar. It was hard to not be able to be there for him. However, his mom called/text me and kept me updated on his status. So hopefully I'll get to talk to him late tonight or tomorrow.

Broken

So most of you know by now that there was a very unfortunate event that happened yesterday. Last night in Colorado, Jon was playing lacrosse and he was hit illegally and sent flying through the air. He spent 3 hours in the hospital and he had broken his right collar bone. The doctor said that he will have to sit out for 4-6 weeks. Jon is hoping for 4 weeks of course because of their biggest game against BYU on April 26th. There's not much the doctors can do for him right now just some pain killers and a sling to keep his arm from moving. He has an appointment tomorrow to see if he is going to need surgery. I kinda hope that he does because then we'll know that it has healed correctly. However, it will be hard to not be able to be with him during that time. I feel like we are always apart during the most important times....but anyways. He plays a big role on the team, he's not only one of the best players but the guys also look up to him, so to say the least the team is pretty upset. Also, since it is his right collar bone he's not going to be able to write, meaning that taking notes in class is going to be difficult. I have a feeling I'm gonna be doing a lot of cooking and cleaning ... but I'm happy to. I love him so much. Well I will keep you posted on what the doctors says tomorrow!

Bored

So I just got my final grades back and I got 3 A's and a pass... which means I get to reinstate my U of O scholarship!! Yay for more money. So now I'm done with school and I'm sitting at home all by myself and it's really boring lol. I'm so excited to go home and then go to Arizona!!

Ok so in my boredom I was sorting through some old photos and I found this...

This was the first day me and Jon ever hung out over 2 years ago. I think we look so much younger, don't you?
