April 15th to most people:
1. Tax Day
2. The day the Titanic sank in 1912
3. The day Abraham Lincoln was shot in 1865
April 15th to me:
The day that my other half came into this world in 1987.... that's what this day will always mean to me and a day I will always be thankful for
Jon turned 22 last Wednesday and believe or not after three years together it was the first actual birthday we got to spend together! So I wanted to make the most of the day. We woke up early and I took him to breakfast at Glenwood and then coffee at Starbucks before we both headed off the class. After class, I showered him with presents. Jon's Mom Caryn and little sister Stephanie were in town for a college tour of UofO so we got to hang out with them in the afternoon. We all went out to dinner together at a little Italian restuarant called Mazzi's and it was delicious! After dinner we hung out with some of the lacrosse boys to celebrate the day. I don't have documentation of the day but I think it was a pretty good day!
PS. Caryn if you have any pictures I'd love to have some!

Oregon vs Oregon State
Today was the lacrosse civil war up in Portland. It was a perfect day to watch a lacrosse game it was beautiful! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us today, we really appreciate it! Among the people who came today were Jon's parents and little sister, my mom and dad and the Vanvalkenburgs. I think the person most excited for the game was Megan, she was so excited to see Jon. Kristie got Megan all "duckifed" and she looked adorable! It was so much fun to have my family there and I'm so happy that they came out.
Beautiful day at the field... just startingMegan and Aunt Kelly
Go Jon!The VanValkenburg Family... all ducked out
Megan and Grandma
Megan and MommyJon at last... big hugs!
She just wanted to be held... and that meant even climbing fence
So happy to see Jon. Megan was also entertained by Caryn's duck call (Jon's Mom)
Future Laxer??... I think soThe Ducks won 14-6. Jon had 1 goal and 4 assists. He had quite the fan section today and afterwards we all went out to dinner. I'm glad that Jon's family came down for the game, it's always fun to see them and spend more time with them.

Blazer Fever
Jon and I have been really getting into the Blazer fever that seems to be sweeping the Portland/Eugene area. I have always been a huge blazer fan, ever since my daddy started taking me to games when I was a toddler. In fact going to Blazer games with my dad are some of my favorite childhood memories... love you dad! I use to know every player by name and number from the Rip City era... back in the glory days. Gladly I think the Blazers are finally returning to the team they use to be good riddance Jail Blazers! Also, Jon has returned to his Portland roots... now that the Sonic no longer exist. Anyway, Jon and I have been going with some of the lax games to watch some games at Rennies. Well here are a couple pictures...so cute.Too bad we lost tonight but.... we'll get em.

Bubbles
While I was home for spring break I got to spend some time with my niece! She has gotten so big and she definitely keeps all of us busy. One of the many things that we did was blow bubbles and she loved it.

Lacrosse
Jon was in LA over Spring Break for lacrosse so his season is in full swing now! I went and saw him play for one of the first times since his injury, I was very excited to see him play although I have to admit I was nervous the whole time. He has gotten so good and you can definitely tell that he is a lot faster than most of the players on the field. In fact at one of his games, someone actually tried to stop him by putting their stick around his neck and drag him down.... needless to say I wanted to punch that guy. Even though it's a rough game, Jon loves playing and this is his last season. I'm not sure what he is going to do with out lacrosse.. hopefully he can find a men's team he likes. Anyways... back to this being his last season you should ALL come to at least one of his games! Here are the only games left that are in Oregon and you SHOULD attend.
Friday, April 03 in Eugene VS Simon Fraiser @ 7pm (Best game to come to)
Sunday, April 05 in Eugene VS Washinton @ 12pm
Saturday, April 18 in Portland VS Oregon State @ 1pm (Sunset High School)
Please come support Jon in his last season it would really mean a lot to me and I know it would mean a lot to him also. Well here are a couple of pictures from this season.PS. he is the one in black

Flashback
Well all this talk of warm and sunny weather made me have a flashback to much colder and wintry conditions in December and the Arctic Blast. I still can not get over how much snow we had! We had almost 20 inches by the end of it. Well I took a series of picture over the two weeks of our "patio" so you can see the progression.
Remember when we thought this was a lot of snow? In fact we "had" to go pick up Kristie and Megan because it was so much! And then there was more....
And then there was a lot! I have to say Portland is not prepared for this much snow and us Oregonian aren't going to forget Arctic Blast for a long time!

Arizona
I know you thought it would never happen but... I've returned. I have to apologize because the past month or so I have either been too lazy or too busy to blog and I know you've all missed me. Well in my first blog back I have pictures from Arizona. As most of you know I've gone to Arizona for as long as I can remember for Spring Break. I have to say it is always a much needed break from schoolt and also about Feburary I'm suffering from a deficiency of Vitamin D. I also start missing my big sister!
So in a matter of hours I went from dome and gloom of Eugene to....
poolside in sunny and warm Scottsdale! My second day there we spent the day in Peoria at spring training.. Mariners vs Cubs. We went with Stacy's friend Sharon and her roommate Cheyenne.
On Friday we went to Zipps for yummy burgers and watch March Madness
On Sunday we went to Barlett Lake in the middle of desert. It is beautiful BUT we encountered giant jumping desert spiders! We never laid down completely because I was on the look out for those spiders...gross. However, we were proud of ourselves because we stayed for almost 3 hours.I had a great time and as always the time flew by. I love going to visit my big sister and I love visiting the SUN!
