Back to School

So I return to my blog. After a long and hot summer in Italy and much needed 6 weeks of rest at home doing nothing....I have returned to school and a life of chaos. As most of you know I have been very anxious about moving back down with all the changes that are happening. Well I think with all the worrying I was doing I made myself sick or I got it from Tami's. Either way, I have been really sick with the flu since I have been back in Eugene. Poor Jon had to rub my back while I was throwing up all night Thursday. He took such good care of me and I'm so thankful for him because I could barely stand up by myself... it was bad. Unfortunately for Jon I got sick at his house and I didn't have to strength to get back to my house so he let me have his bed for the weekend. Needless to say during the whole transition of the old roomie moving out and Steffany moving in I was away sick at Jon's house. By the time I returned Steff had all her stuff moved in and she had made quite some progress on the house. It looks pretty cute all ready however the walls are still a bit bare but we'll work on that eventually. Today I started school and I had 3 classes. I'm gonna be really busy this term even without studio. Lastly, if the cost of living and tuition isn't already enough the cost of books is ridiculuos!!! I have 4 classes which each require 2 or more books so my grand total today was $426.56!! This is a fee I wasn't really figuring into my budget. It is obsurd. Well that is about it for now... ciao!

My niece is adorable

Got to go to lunch with my niece! And of course my sisters and Mom. Notice her T-shirt!! Since I'm the aunt I get to teach her bad habits :) Here she is using a straw to drink her Root Beer.
I like cheesy smiles... cheesy smiles are my favorite!!
Bribing her for kisses! I think chocolate is a good trade
Trying to grab the camera... look at those lips!

Pretty much she is the cutest thing ever!!

I love Seattle!

On Sunday Jon and I spent the day in Seattle. We almost didn't go because it was raining when we woke up but I'm so glad that we did. As you can see it turned out to be a beautiful day... more like fall weather though. We had so much fun and I completely fell in love with Seattle. This city is so beautiful, it's clean, there is always something going on and everyone is so nice! We started out as the infamous Pike Place Market. There was a lot of people and lots of stands selling fresh food and flowers!

We started to make our way down to the harbor down the Harbor Steps which reminded me of the Spanish Steps in Italy except cooler. There were shops and restaurants all the way down the steps with the view of the water on the way down. I had to stop and get some Seattle coffee at Tully's which is Starbucks rival.

We made our way down to the water front and the pier. There was live music and lots of wind on the pier it was so much fun! It was absolutely beautiful you could see the whole outline of the city and all the major landmarks....the Space Needle, Quest field and Safeco field.
We ended our day in Seattle going to Dick's Drive-in which is an old fashion drive-in burger place where you walk up to order and eat in your car. It is like In-n-Out but you know Seattle based. It was very yummy and the perfect ending to our day.

Go Hawks!

Back in April I bought Jon Seahawk's tickets for his birthday and 4 months later we got to go!! I'm not sure I have to say but Jon is obsessed with the Seahawks and it has kinda rubbed off on me. I've always loved football and now I have a team. Anyways we went up to Seattle this back weekend for the game and to spend the weekend with Jon's family. The game was on Friday night and traffic getting there was terrible!! Jon's mom was awesome and drove us so that we didn't have to find a parking spot. Traffic was so bad that Jon and I ended up getting out of the car and walking down the rest of the freeway to get to the stadium... the freeway was like a parking lot!
We had good seats in the second tier of the stadium. The stadium was huge and almost sold out which is pretty awesome for a pre-season game. It was a night game and even though it is August it got pretty cold!

The Stadium
Hmmm... Hot dogs before the game

La Pine

I have so many more pictures from Italy but I will have to just show all of you at a later time. I've been having so much fun since I have been home that I want to write about it! The first full weekend I was home Jon and I went to the parents house in La Pine. It was so awesome to get away from everything and be able to spend time together! We basically just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. We watched movies, napped and ate... a lot. We also went into Bend on Saturday night and had dinner at McMenamin's and walked around the seemingly dead streets of old town Bend (well dead compared to Italy!).

Our favorite thing that we did was go to Devil's lake that Tami and Devin told us about. We took a cooler and a raft and just hung out all afternoon. It was beautiful and so much fun.
