It's been pretty low key here. I've been pretty busy with school lately... we have finally got into school. So we haven't really been exploring or seeing cool new things. It's kinda like being in school in Eugene...but not lol. We have been sketching various fountains and fun stuff like that. On another note... being here for almost three weeks I have learned a few things about the Italian culture and here they are...
1) They have some sort of secret driving language because they are all mad but never get in accidents! They cut each other off, driving inches... literally away from each other while Mopeds swerve in and out of cars and people.
2) It's completely acceptable to park your SmartCar sideways
3)PDA is totally acceptable... sometimes I feel violated by the things that I see
4) Italians always talk with their hands and most of the time it makes them look angry
5) They really do say "Mamma mia"
6) "Prego" means more than you're welcome.. haven't really figured this one out yet
7) Every time you enter a taxi your life is in danger
8) Buses come and go whenever they want
9)Italian plays late and works early. People of all ages stay out until 1-2am in the morning and start work at 6-7am
10) They DO take siesta in the afternoon from 1-3pm
11) No drink is served with ice... nothing is cold and there is no such thing as free water or refillable soda
12) You have to go to a different store for everything on your grocery list
13) There are more gelaterias than Starbucks in the US
I'm sure that there will be more to come but these are the observations thus far.
To be continued.....

Remember to add that cafes and stores close on random days at random times with no apparent schedule or forewarning. :)
