Well all this talk of warm and sunny weather made me have a flashback to much colder and wintry conditions in December and the Arctic Blast. I still can not get over how much snow we had! We had almost 20 inches by the end of it. Well I took a series of picture over the two weeks of our "patio" so you can see the progression.
Remember when we thought this was a lot of snow? In fact we "had" to go pick up Kristie and Megan because it was so much! And then there was more....
And then there was a lot! I have to say Portland is not prepared for this much snow and us Oregonian aren't going to forget Arctic Blast for a long time!

Arizona
I know you thought it would never happen but... I've returned. I have to apologize because the past month or so I have either been too lazy or too busy to blog and I know you've all missed me. Well in my first blog back I have pictures from Arizona. As most of you know I've gone to Arizona for as long as I can remember for Spring Break. I have to say it is always a much needed break from schoolt and also about Feburary I'm suffering from a deficiency of Vitamin D. I also start missing my big sister!
So in a matter of hours I went from dome and gloom of Eugene to....
poolside in sunny and warm Scottsdale! My second day there we spent the day in Peoria at spring training.. Mariners vs Cubs. We went with Stacy's friend Sharon and her roommate Cheyenne.
On Friday we went to Zipps for yummy burgers and watch March Madness
On Sunday we went to Barlett Lake in the middle of desert. It is beautiful BUT we encountered giant jumping desert spiders! We never laid down completely because I was on the look out for those spiders...gross. However, we were proud of ourselves because we stayed for almost 3 hours.I had a great time and as always the time flew by. I love going to visit my big sister and I love visiting the SUN!

If you're going to San Francisco...
I recently went to San Francisco with my studio class. I remember only being in San Fran once before in my life with my family. The only things that I remember are sea lions, buying a mickey mouse glass figure, seeing the golden gate bridge and the song if you're going to San Francisco... This time I spent my time looking at housing and enjoying the beautiful sites. I had so much fun with my class and it was so beautiful the four days that we were there. It was so good to see the sun again. Here are some pictures from the weekend
The Bay Bridge
The BeachClassic Houses in San Fran
The Full House houses!!

Pizza Hut Commercial
Alright people fun fact. I know you have all seen it... the commerical "Pizza Hut went to Rome, Italy to test their new pasta!" First of all Italians would never rave about American pasta because it just doesn't taste the same. Our Italian is not the same as theirs. Secondly, you know the picture they show at the very beginning of that commercial? Well that is the Campo De Fiori and yea that's right that is where I lived for 2 months. In that picture you see Bruno the statue and behind him, the white building diagonal to him it my school and the second window down from the top was my studio space. Then to the the left of the statue is my apartment building. The second building over, the third window down from the top on the right side...that was my apartment window. Also you can actually see the "singer violin boy" that I would talk about so much. This is so hilarious to me, of all the places in Rome they took a picture of the place that I lived! I couldn't find the actual picture that pizza hut uses but this is one of mine that is pretty similar.

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?
I have recently been called out as a blog slacker although I can't deny that, I can say that I have been caught up in this whirlwind of school and thoughts. I feel that I'm still trying to catch my breath from being thrown back into school. Meanwhile I'm being forced to answer questions like where do you see yourself in 5-10 years? What do you want to do when you get out of school? We have been asked that question our whole lives... "What do you want to do when you grow up?" but being threatened with the reality of that question terrifies me. Have I really taken the time to evaluate what I want to do? Are my goals and passions the same as they were when I was 13? So this question lingers over me...what do I want for the rest of my life??? I have also recently been told that I'm seen as "high maintenance", I'd like to think that I just have style. However because of this comment I started to wonder if my true passion for design might be in fashion.... however a career like that would only lead to LA or New York and that isn't where I want to be. At the end of the day this is what I know, I love design it is the most interesting and important thing in everybody's life and I love love love to travel there is so much beauty in the world to be seen. So where ever those two passions take me I'll be ok with it. I figure self discovery is a journey and I'm only 22... I still have a long time to decide.
